In woodworking, a tenon is a piece of wood shaped perfectly to fit into a corresponding mortise. It’s a technical rendezvous point for varying grooves whose precision creates a long-lasting, stable, and durable connection. 

Tenon Movement is a digital yoga studio and training platform offering a robust schedule of live classes, pre-recorded content, and trainings. With connection, curiosity, and community as core operating principles, we are an inclusive space for intentional learning and personal growth.

All of our programming features exclusive curricula taught nowhere else but here. Studying with us is an invitation into our heads and hearts, showcased in a plethora of introductory programming, advanced courses, how-to tutorials, and a range of class lengths and methods to complement your palette and lifestyle. ABOUT YOUR FOUNDERS

Christopher Golden

Christopher has been teaching yoga, meditation, and movement for 12 years. His extensive interdisciplinary training allows him to work with people of all ages and abilities, and he is known for his playful sequences and approachable style to complex poses. Teaching meditation continues to be a source of incredible inspiration and is one of his favorite aspects of the practice. In addition to teaching group and private classes in New York City he also leads yoga retreats all over the world. Christopher has taught hundreds of students in 200-hour, 300-hour, and advanced module trainings, as well as mentored students individually.

Kyle Miller

Kyle has been studying and teaching yoga since 2007. Her teaching is rooted in the classical yogic texts and informed by her experience as teacher, student, friend, wife, and partner. She prioritizes making the practice accessible for everyone by balancing her extensive knowledge of the esoteric with a lighthearted and spirited approach. Her goal is to empower her students to use these teachings to develop their perspective and experience more joy RIGHT NOW. Kyle lives in Los Angeles and teaches all over the world.

Kate Posch

Kate is a seasoned yoga teacher based in both New York City and Connecticut, bringing over 20 years of experience in the fitness and wellness world. She has been leading trainings, mentorships, and retreats globally for over 10 years. Her own journey has been deeply shaped by personal challenges, including numerous injuries and surgeries, which have given her a profound understanding of the body's resilience and the healing power of movement and positivity.

Grounded in compassion and informed by her own experiences and recovery, Kate teaches yoga with a focus on true accessibility, body awareness, and sparking joy! She creates a welcoming space for students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Her classes blend mindful movement, functional alignment, and mobility principles to make people feel the best they can in their body.

Alex Sharry

Alex is a globally recognized yoga teacher and teacher-trainer with a specialization in the method of Katonah Yoga. She has been teaching locally and abroad for 15 years, and merges her passion for all things physical and intellectual into a hybrid of fresh techniques to help you feel clear, capable, and kind. Alex is a published author of her book, Practical Magic, which explores 10 pillars of the Katonah Yoga philosophy through reflective essays that personalize the esoteric essence of yoga. She lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her dog, daughter, and husband and tries her best to practice what she preaches. She has an inherent drive to stay inspired and does so by reading, talk-processing, watching films, walking in nature, running, attempting ceramics, traveling the world, and having her mind blown and heart exploded by motherhood!

Yoga

Our Yoga classes come from our multi-disciplinary approach to movement and philosophy informed by Katonah Yoga, Vinyasa, Iyengar yoga, and modern functional movement techniques. Expect classical postures, spherical movement, and esoteric dialogue in a fun, approachable package. 

Yoga Express

Our Yoga Express classes are designed to help you stay committed to your practice even when you are short on time. Engage in classical postures, spherical techniques, and esoteric dialogue, and then get back to your life! 

Body Express

Body Express classes give you a full-body workout in just 30 minutes. Expect to get your heart and breath rates up with high-intensity moves using body weight, resistance, and free weights.

Meditation

Meditation is the practice of watching the mind, connecting with ourselves, and creating space before our reactions. Whether you are goal oriented in your approach or looking to tap into the mystery of life, our meditation classes are an opportunity to quiet the mind, still the body, and create inner peace.

Breathwork

Pranayama will change your state, regulate your nervous system, and imprint an echo of fortitude in your behavior. Our approach is open-sourced and ever-evolving, inspired by Kundalini, Katonah Yoga, and holotropic techniques. 

Katonah Yoga

Katonah Yoga is founded by our teacher Nevine Michaan. It synthesizes Hatha yoga with Taoism and Traditional Chinese medicine to create a unique take on the practice centered around sparking Joy and creating functionality.

100-Hour Virtual

Our signature 100-hour virtual training is a hearty offering meant to elevate your life, teaching, and studentship. This training is delivered in a generous and cohesive way with respect for all levels, approaches, and conundrums you may have. You will graduate feeling fluent in a myriad of subjects as we’ll lean heavily into practice, practical applications of Katonah Yoga theory, lectures with material and methodology crossover, routine meditation and breathwork practices, and an invitation to know us, use us, and pick our brains. You will receive a certificate of completion and 75 hours bankable toward your Katonah Yoga certification.

In-Person Portugal

The only thing better than an in-person training is an in-person training in Portugal. This live-in will invite you to float in what you’re learning, carry classroom conversations with you throughout your days, lean into the singular focus of learning, cross-reference material you may have explored in other trainings, and use your experience with us to buoy what you already know. This immersion is for anyone and will cover different, yet harmonious material with our virtual training. You will receive a certificate of completion and 75 hours bankable toward your Katonah Yoga certification.
